Stay away from all sodas. I remember when I cut off soda I lost about 15lbs in about a month just by doing that. Also, soda will cause you to retain water, so just stay away from it. And when I say soda, yes, that includes all sugary drinks. Even the ones in the cartons alongside the orange juices. If I were you, I’d stick with water. It’s the best thing in the world for you.

Remember, just because something says fat free doesn’t mean it isn’t fattening. Because of the insulin spike you get from eating refined sugars, they are converted almost immediately into fat the moment they enter into your body.

In the end, you just need to remember that you truly are what you eat. Be watchful of what and how much and you’ll be fine. I’m not saying go be a health food freak. Just be sensible. No need to run out and get protein this and that. People have been living healthy for centuries without those crazy supplements.

Also, I want you to know. I was a heavy kid back in middle school myself. I was 170, 5’2″ at 13. Just talk to your parents about wanting to eat better.
